Homeopathy FAQs by David LittleThis article is an excellent resource by a dear friend and mentor which answers some key questions on homeopathy
What is homeopathy?Homeopathy is a holistic system of medicine where the ideal of cure is to treat a person gently, rapidly and permanently. The founder of homeopathy was Dr. Samuel Hahnemann (1755-1843). According to the World Health Organization, homeopathy is the second most widely used system of medicine in the world, second only to conventional medicine.
Key principles of homeopathyThere are many intricate theories that govern homeopathy but the following three are the most fundamental tenets on which it is built:
|
Why use it?
How are homeopathic remedies taken?Homeopathic remedies can be administered in a variety of methods, the most common one being oral administration. We personally use Hahnemann's advanced oral dosing techniques [including LM potencies] of giving the remedies mixed in water as that gives us the best control over tailoring the dosage according to the sensitivity, degree of pathology, as well as the vitality of the patient.
How often do I take the remedies?Often in chronic cases, there can be long gaps between doses. For people who are unfamiliar with homeopathy and used-to the prevalent culture of "popping pills", the "wait and watch" period between successive doses of a homeopathic remedy, can be agonizing. But it is very important to let the body respond to a carefully selected dose of the homeopathic remedy before dosing again. It is instructive to remember that we are only 'stimulating' the vital force into responding to a remedy through a dose, and over-stimulation through unnecessary dosing when the response is ongoing can derail or delay the curative process.
